TUV Certification for Fat Spaniel Opens Door to Global Solar Market

Energy Monitoring Technology Approved by International Safety Certifications Lab

TUV Certification

SAN JOSE, California — Fat Spaniel Technologies, Inc. (FST), the leading provider of critical data communications and monitoring infrastructure for the distributed generation industry, today announced that it has received notification from TUV Rheinland of North America, Inc., a world leader in compliance testing and certification, for its PV2Web™ data communications and monitoring product line. The accreditation confirms that Fat Spaniel complies with EN61010-1, the strict global safety requirements for electrical equipment measurement.

Fat Spaniel’s solutions include monitoring hardware and a unique software-based solution that monitors the performance of distributed energy systems and delivers that data to users via a web interface in real-time. Designed to provide simple and compelling graphical views of live energy data, the dashboard view provides each segment of the value chain, from installers and manufacturers to builders and end users, the ability to view the system’s energy generation and consumption in real time, over an easy to understand, web-based delivery.

“The notification from TUV marks the completion of its extensive testing of our products and review of our internal systems, and represents a major milestone in the availability of our energy monitoring systems in the global renewable energy market,” said Richard Eckman, director of operations for Fat Spaniel Technologies. “TUV is equivalent to UL in North America and is better known in Europe.”  FST filed its CE declarations earlier this year in preparation for entering the European market.

Fat Spaniel Technologies provides next generation IT services for the energy industry that monitor and verify renewable energy system performance in real-time. By transforming raw energy data into a dynamic, web-enabled dashboard view, Fat Spaniel tracks the amount of energy being produced, the amount going back to the grid and most importantly, the ongoing performance of the system—all in real-time.
