Matthew Powell Joins Fat Spaniel as CEO
Thanks to our customers and partners, Fat Spaniel is growing by leaps and bounds. Our growth is being driven several factors, including: 1) increasingly broad mainstream interest in renewable energies, 2) the ability of energy management and intelligence systems (like Fat Spaniel’s) to turn “green” technologies into profitable solutions, and 3) improving payback on investments in renewable energy due to increasing volume, falling prices, and tax credits and other incentives from governments all over the world.
As with every young company experiencing growth, Fat Spaniel is in the fortunate position of needing to expand the team to prepare for future success. It is my great pleasure to announce today I have joined Fat Spaniel as the new CEO to help capitalize on the expanding market opportunities ahead of Fat Spaniel.
To provide a little background on where I come from - I was recently the CEO at Q-layer, a pioneering cloud computing software start-up which was acquired by Sun Microsystems in January, 2009. Before that, I was president and CEO at Determina, Vernier Networks and Siliquent Technologies. I’ve spent my career in leadership roles in high-growth companies, forging partnerships with industry leaders, and building effective global teams at companies such as Cisco Systems, StrataCom, and Netro Corporation.
I share with the team at Fat Spaniel a strong sense of excitement and passion to build a successful business and to make a meaningful contribution to the growth in renewable energy solutions. Throughout the process of determining if I was the right fit for Fat Spaniel, I have learned that the people here truly make the company and the technology what it is today. And when you combine the extraordinary growth opportunity for us in the renewable energy market with this extraordinary team, we have the key ingredients for great success.
Fat Spaniel is on an exciting path within one of the most globally significant industries. Fat Spaniel will continue to be the company that provides unrivaled services and solutions, and helps make renewable energy the #1 choice. The next couple years will be all about growth-expanding our technology, our global footprint, and continuing to bring greater value to our customers.
